Terpenes are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in female fruiting plants and trees.  Terpenes are responsible for the aroma you smell from fruits and trees but so much more than that, they interact with the human endocrine system and receptors the same way cannabinoids do.

 

A novice cannabis user who wanted to feel the maximum effects of cannabis would want the highest THC but those strains typically have far less of the therapeutic cannabinoids like CBG and CBN. These cannabinoids coupled with the effects from the terpenes are going to give the longest lasting high and more therapeutic results
